Amethyst sage agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of amethyst sage agate, from Nevada. This is old stock material, the like of which is seldom seen for sale these days. This example has great purple coloration, with a few black dendrites that stand out nicely in the pastel lilac splashes at either end. It almost seems as if the dendrites bled and added a slightly greenish tinge to the opalized areas around them. There are also some interesting straw colored 'cornflakes' present, seemingly afloat in the translucent purplish gel, along with some tiny clouds. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, and an elongated teardrop shape, brilliantly polished both front and back.
