Tabu Tabu jasper cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of tabu tabu, also sometimes called 'smoke and embers' jasper, or forest fire jasper, from Africa. This example has a brecciated pattern with streaking similar to Australia's snakeskin jasper, only in bright crimson red with accents of gray, white and brown against a backdrop of charcoal black. Great contrast here, very eye-catching and appealing. It's easy to see how this jasper got its name; the warm hues are indeed much like the hot glowing embers of a fire. Awesome!! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm and a bold designer 'diamond' shape, polished both front and back.
Size: 53x22mm
Weight: approximately 41 carats
