Rutilated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a large & dazzling cabochon of rutilated quartz, from Brazil. It features water clear quartz that's jam packed with plenty of bright golden needles of rutile, scattered like jackstraws. This treasure shows none of the typical 'fairy frost' inclusions, but try as I might, these photos really don't do proper justice to this magnificent stone. The 'spun gold' rutile shimmers with oodles of sparkle and gleam in hand, and I have no doubt it will look particularly impressive in virtually any open backed setting. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a designer 'catseye' shape, and a brilliant 'wet ice' polish both front and back.
