Morrisonite jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of morrisonite jasper, from the old Morrison Ranch digs in Oregon. This rare material is the most sought after member of the porcelain jasper family, often called the king of jaspers. This stone is a distinguished example with a wild patterns of streamers in a gamut of complimentary shades of avocado green, gold & greenish-gold, along with touches of rich rusty brown. It's an outstanding gem, despite some very slight undercutting in the lighter colored gold areas, mostly on the backside. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, and a curvy designer 'flame' shape, polished both front and back.
