Raspberry tube agate cab ~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of raspberry tube agate, from Mexico. This highly figured agate is a pleasure to work with, and I must say I like it a lot! It was mined at the Crown Of Silver psilomelane claims as an extra added bonus. The deep raspberry coloration is due to the infiltration of rhodonite, so the miner tells me. Many dark tubes and spots of psilomelane contrast well in the crystalline agate base, along with raspberry red mosses and tubes that show some subtle fortifications. There are a few sparkly patches; all but one barely break the surface, but are visible within the stone's translucent depths, adding to the stone's unique character. It has a high rounded dome of 6.5mm, a bold designer 'spearhead' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
