Inferno agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Mexican inferno agate, mined near the Laguna agate digs. This example certainly lives up to its name, with fingers of crimson red plumage fortified within large tube formations. Like many Mexican agates, there are a few teensy tiny dots sprinkled in with the ghostly bandings surrounding some of the plumes. The stone is well composed, and it ought to be a breeze to design something fun to best show it off. Cut in a gracefully curved 'flame' shape, with a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
