Feather Ridge plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon my dear Rain cut from Feather Ridge plume agate, which was recently mined in Oregon. Her lovely example has flowery bunches of plume figures in saturated shades of pink, rose, and cream suspended in a background of translucent peachy-gold, which displays them to the fullest. The coloration brings to mind grand old regency rose plume agate from Graveyard Point, which is only about 10 miles away, comparing very well to the best I've seen. Feather Ridge plume agate will certainly look great in silver, especially antiqued silver, but I think the contrasting richness of gold would be even more impressive. Try it, you'll love it! This cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a designer 'keystone' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
