Pietersite cab ~
Offered here is a fancy cabochon of premium old stock pietersite, from Africa. This intriguing stone features gold, orange and midnight blue chatoyancy in a swirling pattern that shifts and changes as the stone is turned; just as one winks off, another lights up, though that quality is mighty tough to illustrate in one dimensional photos. There's also a scattering of prized reds, plus tiny confetti-like dots of orange that add a great festive feel to the cab. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a sleek designer 'pinwheel' or 'S' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back. And my per carat price for a stone of this quality is a steal!
