Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a superb collector's cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, and it is a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The large cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with translucent bluish gray agate, and each is framed with a lattice-like network of webbing in cream and tan. Those are the actual cell walls, and they're quite distinct here. Like tiny embedded thundereggs, some of the cells are fortified with subtle bands, complete with sparkly cores. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, and a versatile designer shape, polished both front and back.
