Stinking Water plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of white plume agate, from Stinking Water Pass, Oregon. This old stock material is anything but run-of-the-mill, and getting harder to come by all the time, particularly in this above average calibre. I often make these into doublets, adding a thin black basenite backing for contrast, but this stone didn't need that at all. It has a fascinating flowery pattern of ornate plumes in snow white, suspended in a translucent agate background. The stone has a high rounded dome of 5.5mm, a long designer 'catseye' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 53x12mm
Weight: approximately 28 carats
