Sugilite cab ~
Offered here is an cabochon of sugilite, from the Wessels mine near Kuramen, South Africa. This manganese gem features gorgeous lilac, lavender and purple coloration in an unusual dotted pattern. No, it's not the gemmy gel material few of us can find or afford, but it's definitely beautiful nonetheless. One thing I like about sugilite, other than the delightful color, is that it looks equally terrific in either silver or gold. Very rich and appealing, however you choose to set it. The cab has a low rounded dome of 4.5mm, and a bold designer shape, polished both front and back.
