Polka dot agate cab ~
Offered here is a colorful cabochon of Priday polka dot agate, which hails from Oregon. This 'blue ice' material is always great fun to work with, when you can find it, and never fails to cut extraordinary stones. This fine example has clusters of creamy pastel peach, white and black dots, with abstract shapes in blood red. Interestingly, some areas are sub-metallic, exhibiting a silvery sheen at certain angles. Viewed with a bit of imagination, the pattern is weirdly scenic, as some have commented. The stone is cut in a bold designer 'spear' shape with a low rounded dome of 5mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
