Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is a fine cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This colorfully silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millennia, the cells in this fossil bone have been replaced with yellow agate, and a scattering of grayish-blue cells, as well as a few bright orange ones. There also are some smoky-brown pools and an interesting fortification in palest blue that shows translucence. Each is framed by the actual cell walls, which are a contrasting jet black, forever frozen in time. The cab has a well rounded dome of 4.5mm, a designer drop shape, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back.
