Bruneau jasper cab ~
Offered here is a delightful cabochon of Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features an attractive pattern of partial orbs, like wings overlapping one in front of the other, in shades of creamy peach against a burnt orange body. There's just a touch of translucency present too, typical of the best of this fine porcelain jasper. Sadly, it's becoming alarmingly scarce and spendy these days, and I heard a rumor that claims have been revoked. Bruneau jasper takes an outrageously glassy polish, and when it's nicely patterned like this cab is, it is much sought after by collectors and designers alike. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 4+mm, and a sweet teardrop shape, perfectly polished both front and back.
