Bumble bee stone cab ~
Offered here is a deluxe cabochon of bumblebee stone, from Indonesia, where it is collected near the steaming fumaroles of Mount Papandayan. This example has brilliant yellow-orange bands along with shaded black, white and gray bands, which adds an appealing contrast. There are also an interesting eye toward the large end. The stone is surprisingly translucent, as illustrated by the backlit photo. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully curved designer drop shape, and a slick glossy polish both front and back.
