Yellow Cat Flats petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a fine collector's cabochon of the famous Yellow Cat Flats petrified wood, more accurately called a wood replacement. This totally agatized (and very, very rare) material is absolutely awesome stuff, and mighty tough rough to pry from the hands of collectors. -smile- My youngest son Chris gifted it to me recently when none of us could attend the local gemshows, just to perk me up with something swell to work with. I guess, by now, everyone knows how I LOVE red agates! The color is brilliant to-die-for crimson on reddish orange, with fortification banding and several neat tubes. The backside is amazing too, as one would expect. Best of all, I don't see the typical heartbreaking fractures this material so often has; any odd lines are ancient and well-healed. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a gracefully designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
