Deschutes jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A treasured favorite, this classic old material was dug out long ago, and is quite collectible. This example features rich earth tones including coffee brown, tan and cream, with a scattering of jet black dendrites. It was pointed out to me that the figures seem to resemble a mountain with some smoke issuing forth. In any case, these earthy jaspers never fail to look fantastic in settings of either silver or gold, the choice of which I will leave to your capable imagination. The cab has a low but nicely rounded dome of 4.5mm, a plump designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
