Offered here is a cabochon of top quality flowering tube onyx, from Utah. This unique material is simply stunning in its complex and varied patterns. This strikingly exotic example has flower-like plumes, bullseyes and scalloped bandings, with contrast to spare. And an interesting crystalline void framed by fortifications. The yellow, ochre, gray and black hues of this type of onyx somehow remind me of Autumn, but this one will get noticed no matter what the season. It's awesome stuff! Happily, there are next to none of the typical healed hairlines that often plague this rare onyx. The stone has a low rounded dome, a versatile designer shape, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
