Royal imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of Imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectible 'ojitos' material is simply wonderful stuff, another member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family I love so much. (Ojitos means little eyes in Spanish.) This example features a larger orbicular pattern at one end, with ghostly "echoes" trailing down the center of the stone in a background of muted blues and greens. In hand, it's a little more on the greenish side, and a bit less blue than the photos. The old ivory color of the shoulders and the orbs adds an extra element of appeal, and I have no doubt this one will surely spark your imagination to new heights! The stone has a low rounded dome of 5mm, a bold designer shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
