Rutilated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a fancy cabochon of top notch rutilated quartz, from Brazil. It features beautifully flashy needles of golden rutile, rather tightly packed. Because of that, at certain angles, it exhibits an unusual cat's eye effect that's quite appealing. And it shines like threads of spun gold in direct sunlight! There are only a few small areas of "fairy frost", adding their tiny rainbow glints. I particularly like the apricot shades of the needles in this one, and think it's easily worthy of a custom gold setting. Whatever your plans for it, it'll make you proud. It has a high rounded dome of nearly 6.5mm, a designer 'spear' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back. And at my per carat price of less than $1.50, it's a steal.
