Dryhead agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of collectible Dryhead agate, from Montana. This example has wildly intricate fortifications in the classic shades of orange, yellow and red. I think there's a greenish band too. It stands out strongly against a brownish-purple background, which is the actual host rock matrix. At the core is a sparkly drusy pocket of palest lavender-tinged crystals, complete with tiny terminations. It's quite striking, easily worthy of gold, and the more you look, the more there is to see! The cab has a high and well rounded dome of 6mm, and a designer 'flame' shape, beautifully polished both front and back.
Size: 50x25mm
Weight: approximately 58 carats
