Agua Nueva agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Agua Nueva agate, from Mexico. I often find that I favor this material even more than its long prized and famous cousin, Laguna agate, found nearby. This colorful example has fortification bands in a rosy shade of raspberry, and a scattering of tiny dots which often characterize many collectible Mexican agates. It is surrounded by mossy bundles of orange, avocado green and more. The stone is very gemmy and translucent, so there is a great dimension of depth. Gorgeous! The cab has a low rounded dome of 4+mm, a versatile designer shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
