Lake Superior agate cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of Minnesota's State Gem, Lake Superior agate. This highly collectible agate sure cuts a stupendous stone! This particular example has very appealing carnelian colors that remind me of orange chiffon, showing the super fine banding of a prize laker. Nicely translucent, there are some tiny reddish tendrils present at the sides, something I've seldom seen before, as well as some faint cornflake inclusions on the backside. The stone has a well rounded dome of 7mm, an elongated designer drop shape, and a terrific glassy polish both front and back.
