Royal imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of royal imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectible 'ojitos' (little eyes) material is the very best of the best, part of a huge old horde of outstanding rough nodules the miner had held back for himself. The pattern in this distinguished stone is composed of several orbs stacked atop one another. It is a study in various pastel shades of yellow, mauve, tawny brown, blue and rusty orange, with a dab or two of blood red. There is also a secondary overlaid pattern of diagonal streaks. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a softly rounded ovoid shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
