Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of butterfly wing jasper (actually a rhyolite), from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This example was cut from grand old material, full of colorfully varied figure, including an intriguing dark smoky pool that is translucent. Any odd lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so you just can't go wrong with this beauty; it definitely won't disappoint! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a graceful designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
