Sugilite cab ~
Offered here is an cabochon of sugilite, from the Wessels mine near Kuramen, South Africa. This manganese gem features an gorgeous reddish-purple coloration, in an unusual nodular pattern, akin to webbing. No, it's not the gemmy gel material few of us can find or afford, but it's definitely beautiful nonetheless. One thing I like about sugilite, other than the delightful color, is that it looks equally terrific in either silver or gold. The cab has a well rounded dome of 4mm, a designer 'spear' shape, and an excellent polish both front and back.
