Charoite cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of charoite, the nicest I've had in a long time. This rare purple gem material is found only at a single source, along the Charo River, located in a very remote area of East Central Siberia. This cab features a delightful crushed velvet sort of pattern with pearly chatoyance. There is also a splash or two of black aegirine-augite, translucent pools of feldspar, and a hint of tinaksite bringing a yellow-orange tint, rare minerals in their own right. This example is backed with an extra thin layer of black jade for added strength. The stone has a well rounded dome of nearly 6mm, a versatile designer shape, and a super glossy polish both front and back. You will LOVE this one!
