Turquoise cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of spiderweb turquoise, from China. This example has a wild array of colors, from aqua blue to sea green to burnt orange, with a blackish matrix forming extra fancy webs. There's a bit of quartz present too, adding character. No doubt this material has been stabilized by some hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I don't believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It polished like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a low rounded dome of 5mm, a designer drop shape, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
