Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is an extra fancy cabochon of ocean jasper, from Madagascar. Ocean jasper never fails to amaze me with its endless variations! Sadly, there are no plans for any further harvesting at the original source. This unique cab features an artful display of 'cogwheel' bullseyes, which are composed of tiny greenish crystals, or pseudomorphs of crystals, radiating outward like the petals of flowers. They stand out wonderfully against a background of palest pastel yellow, with some peach and pinkish fortifications and a thin band of pale blue. There's a sparkly drusy pocket adding character, too. Most of the stone has that gemmy translucent quality favored by collectors and designers alike. It has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, a versatile designer shape, and a super slick glassy polish both front and back.
