Serape jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of top quality serape jasper, from Mexico. This jasper-agate blend was so named for its resemblance to the ubiquitous Mexican serape, a garment often made from a striped blanket. This delightfully striking example has an intriguing pattern of bluish bands running roughly parallel through the stone on a midnight blue background. That is overlaid with bright, colorful patches of strong reddish-orange, deep magenta, and yellow. There is also a fainter secondary pattern of swirls & streaks going across the stone. It ought to be thrilling set in either silver or gold, or whatever else you might conjure up! It has a rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer chevron shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 37x32mm
Weight: approximately 42 carats
