East Java plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of East Java plume agate, a fairly recent find. Well, they call it plume agate, although this particular pattern certainly looks more like tubes to me. Those who have seen this stone remarked that it resembles some large celled dinosaur bone, and I have to agree. A multitude of orange dots in this cab are outlined in red, and nearly all show pools of smoky black agate at their centers. The stone is packed with these orb figures, and the little space between is filled with bluish agate. It's an intriguing and rare material that will definitely make interesting jewelry, or a fine addition to your collection. The cab has a rounded dome of 6mm, and a plump designer drop shape that's polished both front and back.
