Horse Canyon agate cab ~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of rare Horse Canyon agate, from California. This highly sought after moss agate is arguably some of the prettiest and rarest there is, becoming tougher to get by the day. The area where it comes from is now private and closed, so there's been no collecting for quite some time now. This unusual beauty features an ornate pattern of moss and stringers, some of which appear rather plume-like, in classic shades of green and yellow. It also has some water level bands, and five ghostly bullseyes, though you'll have to look closely to see them. They resemble crop circles, so says my son Christo. Please be sure to click the pics up to full size to fully appreciate this one! The stone has a rounded dome of 5mm, a sleek designer 'spearhead' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
