Petrified palm root cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare petrified palm root, from California's Mojave Desert. This fossil material is a joy to work with, showing next to none of the typical fractures petrified wood so often has. The once-living palm's ringed pattern is quite apparent here, faithfully preseved over millenium, with a feast of pale ivory white eyes edged with pastels of coffee brown, tan and cream. Some areas do have a hint of translucence, and as you can see, it has a different flavor than the more common pet. palm from Texas and Lousiana. This one is sure to look grand in most any setting, or as a centerpiece in your collection. The cab has a generously high rounded dome of 9mm, and a plump designer teardrop shape that is well polished both front and back.
