Deschutes jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A treasured favorite, this classic old material was dug out long ago, and is quite collectible. This example features rich earth tones including coffee brown, tan and cream, with a scattering of jet black dendrites. When viewed with a bit of imagination, it becomes a mountain scene, with a dark sky and a single old tree stump with the soild eroded from its old roots. heh These contrasting shades look magnificent in a setting of silver, though this jasper is certainly worthy of gold; the choice is yours! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a designer 'crescent' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
