Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is a colorful cabochon of Mexico's butterfly wing jasper, cut by Christopher. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (actually a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This wild example was cut from grand old material, and features a crazy patchwork of patterns. It has almost a rainbow's worth, including shades of blue, orange, magenta, pink, gold and yellow. Any odd lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so this beauty is ready to take part in your next masterpiece. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, and a rounded chevron shape. Despite a few tiny pits, it has a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
