Pilbara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a bold cabochon of Pilbara jasper, from Australia. This material certainly cuts striking stones, with contrast a plenty, but sadly, I've heard it is no longer being mined... This example features dark blood red, orange, and yellow streaks, with a bit of white and pink here and there. The artful criss-crossing road map pattern really catches the eye, and I think it has a boatload of designer potential. If you do too, grab it and make it yours!! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of about 6mm, an versatile designer 'flame' shape, and a glassy polish both front and back.
