Malachite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of malachite, from Zaire. It features the classic beauty of countless fine bandings in rich, vividly contrasting shades of light and dark green, with some fancy bullseyes and some areas that show hints of chatoyance, like that seen in a satin ribbon. Plenty of character and appeal in this one! There are a few small natural voids, typical of this type of malachite, and I only mention it for accuracy; I don't consider them flaws. This one will look fabulous set in either silver or gold, no doubt. The cab has a generously high rounded dome of 10mm, and a pump designer drop shape, with a super glossy polish both front and back.
