Royal Aztec lace agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of royal Aztec lace agate, from Mexico. This old stock material was never too plentiful, and has become even more scarce these days. This example has lovely lavender to purple shades with lacy scallops and a few tiny bullseyes. It is very nicely translucent too, as illustrated by the backlite photo. It will look terrific in a setting of bright yellow gold, but silver works quite nicely too. The cab has an elongated teardrop shape that's easy to set, a well rounded dome of 5mm, and a gleaming polish both front and back.
