Misty Mountain jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of misty mountain jasper, from Madagascar, cut by my son Christopher. The stone, sometimes also called dunes jasper, has a repeating pattern of partial orbs in rows, rather like long waves in this example. It's unusual to find in this dark green color, which is very uniform. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6.5mm, a bold designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
