Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of old stock ocean jasper, from Madagascar. This particular ocean jasper came from a huge piece I've had in storage a long time and only cut into after the first of the new year. I found a great variety of patterns in it. This example has a snow white and translucent pastel yellow & pink background with two large multi-ringed bullseyes. Stones like this make a bold design statement and are always a lot of fun to work with. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a sweet designer teardrop shape. Despite a few pinpoint voids on the backside, it is beautifully polished both front and back.
