Petrified palm root cab ~
Offered here is an unusual collector's cabochon of birdseye petrified palm root, fabulous GEM material from Sumatra. This outstanding fossil wood is a fascinating piece of the earth's natural history. This example has a remarkable pattern of windblown eyes that stand out nicely against jet black. It shows a variety of woodgrain, along with creamy tendrils, jagged flecks & pools of translucent bluish agate. Plenty of contrast here, very unique! No fossil collection is complete without a nice example of this amazing new palm root. But it ought to make a fabulous item of jewelry too. -smile- The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a bold designer 'chevron' shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
