Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of Madagascar's ocean jasper. This striking example has a background dark forest green, overlaid with white and pastel pinkish tan fortifications, and an assortment of fancy bullseyes and eyes. There's a tiny botryoidal pocket at one side, in the inside curve. By my lights, this type of ocean jasper seems to have a rather exotic flavor, and this one certainly has plenty of contrast and character. The stone has a generously high rounded dome of 7mm, a designer teardrop shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
