Petrified palm wood cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of petrified palm wood, newly arrived GEM material from Sumatra. This fossil wood is a fascinating piece of the earth's natural history, and I think it's absolutely gorgeous stuff! It's been a joy to work with, showing none of the typical pits and chalky soft spots this petrified wood so often has. The once-living palm's speckled figure practically leaps out of the stone, with a contrasting pattern of creamy tan petioles against a backdrop of jet black and brown. No pet wood collection is complete without an example of palm wood, and this one is truly a delight. The cab has a bold designer shape, a well rounded dome of 6mm, and it is perfectly polished both front and back.
