Montana agate cab ~
Offered here is a RARE and distinguished cabochon of Montana dendritic agate, cut from a nodule plucked years ago from a gravel bar along the banks of the Yellowstone River. The spectacularly well-defined dendrites make this one highly collectible, and I can tell you from personal experience that one can slice many, MANY buckets of nodules and not come up with anything near as nice. It has a translucent background that features several tube formations, each of which have mossy branches snaking through their cores. Remarkably ornate dendrites resembling blooming 'flowers' stand out in sharp contrast against ghostly patches of milky white & bluish gray. This stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a designer drop shape, and a brilliantly glassy 'wet ice' polish both front and back.
