Indonesian orbicular river jasper cab~
Offered here is a cabochon of orbicular river jasper, cut from a large boulder found in Indonesian. Not much of this material was ever harvested, so they tell me. It bears a remarkably close resemblance to Madagascar's ocean jasper, but generally seems to have smaller orbs. This example is rather difficult to describe because it has a different type of orbs, in bright gold, each with a mossy-looking greenish center. Contrasts nicely against a background of orange and palest purple-gray. There is one large drusy pocket, as well as a couple of smaller flecks adding sparkle to the character of the stone. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a plump designer scallop shape, polished both front and back.
Size: 41x23mm
Weight: approximately 40 carats
