East Java plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of East Java plume agate, a fairly recent find. I've seen wilder and more intense plume patterns in this material, but this stone makes the most of what it has. The fiery yellow and red combination is offset by sprinklings of tiny white dots that seem to line the clear agate veins and pools. Rather like fire and ice! Those translucent areas allow the eye to see down into the stone; although they probably appear to be voids, they are not. It's an interesting material that should make interesting jewelry, or a fine addition to your collection. The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, and a designer 'diamond' shape that's polished both front and back.
