Royal Sahara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a striking cabochon of the Royal Sahara jasper, from the North African Sahara desert. This astonishing porcelain material is beautiful, reminiscent of Deschutes or Biggs jaspers. This example has rich shades of ochre, tan, cream and reddish brown, and it's nearly awash with fine black dendrites, very tiny ones. The pattern is rather scenic, when viewed with a bit of imagination. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, and a designer 'flame' shape that's polished both front and back to a brilliant mirror shine.
