Paul Bunyan agate cab ~
Offered here is an interesting cabochon of rare Paul Bunyan plume (or flame) agate, which hails from a long depleted area near Barstow, California. This example has attractive tongues of plume contrasting wonderfully well against a background of darker maroon and charcoal-gray to black agate. The figure is amazing in this cab, as the fortified layers of the finger-like plumes stand out wonderfully from the patches of snowy white quartz, with just a bit of sparkle. The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, and a glassy polish front and back.
