Lake Superior agate cab ~
Offered here is an unusual cabochon of Minnesota's State Gem, Lake Superior agate. This highly collectible agate sure cuts a stupendous stone! This particular example has strongly saturated carnelian orange color, showing the wonderful banding so typical of prize lakers. Nicely translucent, there are some cornflake inclusions present, a lot like some carnelian found in Washington & Oregon locales. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a sleek designer 'flame' shape, and a terrific glassy polish both front and back.
