Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Argentina, cut from a slice of stalactite. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of classic rhodochrosite is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment and most goes straight overseas. This remarkably gemmy stone features glowing pink coloration that's simply delicious! It has next to none of the typical crystalline veil inclusions within, but a nice showing of wavy banding, and a delightful degree of warm translucence. There are some neat little orbs & squiggly tubes in the large end too. This stone has a freeform designer shape, with a high rounded dome of 7mm, and it is polished to a lustrous brilliance both front and back.
